Community Tapestry
Community Tapestry is a cultural engagement project that uses weaving as a form of communication. It is an activity designed to be adapted for events organised by municipalities, associations, institutions, or companies.
It promotes sustainability and recycling, nurtures interest in the art of weaving, and brings people together—offering the community a chance to collaborate on a shared creative project, weaving not only threads but also friendships, meaningful moments, and collective memories.
Suitable for all age groups, the activity can be tailored to the number of participants, available space, duration, and themes that the organising body wishes to highlight.
Event Highlights:
Setúbal Municipality, MAPS – Performances in the Neighbourhood: focused on the movement of participants' bodies as tools for weaving.
Covilhã Municipality, FIADA event: where the main theme was inclusion and community unity.
