About Cross Lights

Cross Lights was founded in 2015, the International Year of Light declared by the United Nations — a symbolic beginning for a brand that weaves light into every thread. Through a palette of carefully chosen colors and textures, each textile piece becomes a radiant expression of joy, warmth, and presence. At the heart of our practice lies a deep belief in weaving not only fabric, but meaning, memory, and emotion.

Born in Lisbon and shaped by multicultural influences from London, Barcelona, and Madrid, Cross Lights stands for conscious craftsmanship. We embrace slow living, the use of eco-friendly materials, and ethical practices that honor both the artisan and the Earth. Our mission is to create high-quality handwoven pieces with a unique design signature — combining sustainable fibers, ancestral techniques, and a contemporary aesthetic that speaks to the senses.

Cross Lights celebrates diversity and the feminine spirit. Our values are rooted in creativity, empowerment, and the beauty of imperfection. We seek to inspire confidence, comfort, and emotional connection through color, texture, and storytelling. Each piece is a tactile invitation to feel more, to slow down, and to reconnect with what truly matters.

The brand has collaborated with fashion designers and has been supported by key cultural programs such as Culture Moves Europe, which enabled research on Byzantine weaving in Greece. Cross Lights has also received funding to lead weaving workshops during the European Craft Days, and participated for two consecutive years in the Creative Exchange Residency for Craft Practitioners, promoted by the European Crafts Alliance and the World Crafts Council Europe. These experiences have enriched the practice, linking tradition with innovation across borders.

Created by Rita Martins Pereira, Cross Lights is more than a textile brand — it is a poetic manifesto. It invites you to choose with intention, to honor the handmade, and to bring color and presence into your everyday rituals. Through softness, detail, and light, we offer not just textiles, but a way of being.
